Gooooooood Morning!

Family, Titus

We’re on cloud nine here at the hospital! We had a wonderful evening last night. We got checked into our room around midnight and both got to go to sleep at about 1. Of course, we had Titus sleep in our room with us.

I guess things were in such a rush last night, I didn’t get to fill everyone in with all the details. Like I said earlier, I was out eating a burger when Sara’s water broke. At this point she was in the bathroom. She had an extra strong contraction just as she was getting up to go to the bathroom and it caused her water to break. At this point the contractions got their heaviest. At this point, Sara was definately ready for the epidural. The nurse was proud of her, she said she could tell everyone that she had experience text-book labor. I’m proud of her, she had to wait an additional 45 minutes until the epidural was in. Sara had to really concerntrate on her breathing to make it thorugh the pain. Just after the epidural, she as at 8 cm. They felt it wouldn’t be long.

Sara really realaxed now for about 45 minutes or so, even sleeping just a little. Then she gave me a very strange look, saying “I think I’m pushing!”

I grabbed the nurse and she called the Dr. They had to keep Sara from pushing so the Dr. could get ready. She was ready to go. Once the Dr. was all set up, it took about 5 pushes and Titus was out. He had such great color right as he came out. After this, the baby nurse got him cleaned up and we got to hold him for about 45 minutes as the Dr. got Sara all fixed up. Then I went with Titus to the nursery and watched him get bathed and cleaned up. About an hour later, Sara called me and told me that we were moving to our new room.

I got to change his first diaper. Woo hoo! I think I found my calling! (just kidding) He’s been feeding like a champ and everyone is so impressed with him, but what can I say, he’s a Conley. The Dr. came by already and said that if Sara continued to do so well, we may go home tomorrow. Not too shabby, huh?

Well, that’s our delivery story. It was about 11 hours long, but it went soooo well.

We can’t wait for everyone to meet him.
