The morning after my personal “journey of stress,” I took Titus up to meet his Great Mama. She had been asleep for over 24 hours, so it wasn’t likely that Mama would get to meet him at this point. About an hour before I got to the hospital, she had woken up for just a few seconds. She seemed to recognize her sister who had come in the night before. When Titus and I arrived, Mom was able to wake her up again. This time however, her eyes were only open for 2 or 3 seconds and she didn’t appear to recognize anyone. We talked to Mama throughout the day, letting her know that Titus was there and that he had come to meet her.
Although Mama never woke up again, I’m so glad we came. Who really knows if she was aware of our presence. If she was, then I know that our visit made her very happy. If she wasn’t, then I’m okay with that. I’m sure that by now she know that we came to visit and I’m sure she’s already told half of heaven that here Great Grandson came to be with her.
