The Banff Chronicles: The Delta Royal Canadian

Travel

I’ll be honest, when visiting Banff there are two hotels that really stand out from the rest. The Fairmont Banff Springs and the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, both of which I’ll mention in this series and show some pictures. When booking this trip by redeeming reward points, we considered staying at both of these hotels. They would have been amazing. Instead we chose the Delta Royal Canadian in Banff. Parking was remarkably cheaper, it was right in the center (well, only a few blocks away) of Banff, every room had a mini refrigerator and there was free wireless Internet. Since we we were still on a budget, we figured that this four-star hotel would please us as much as the others, and we’d have a little more money for eating out.

We loved this hotel. We didn’t have an amazing view or anything (the other hotels had the views I’m sure) but we loved it for the very reasons we chose it. Since we hadn’t decided everything that we would do while in Banff, I’d spend time on the Internet each night figuring out what places we would see the next day. Our room had a fireplace. That was a nice touch. Oh, and after a long day of hiking, we really enjoyed the hot tub pool.

There was one thing they did each morning that we really liked. They wash your windshield and leave a note saying how they washed your windshield so you would really enjoy the view. What a great touch.
