Tomorrow is my last full day in South Georgia. Now that tax season is over and the weather is right, my mom and I are going to the swamp. The Okefenokee Swamp that is. I grew up down here where we’d go to Grassy Pond and take out paddle boats that would sometimes float by 6-8 foot gators. Several years ago my brother came back with a desire to do something adventurous. So he and my mom went to the swamp in kayaks.
Now, I’m not a fan of anything swampy. I don’t love snakes, gators or other swamp related wildlife, but I just have a strong desire to do this. I couldn’t think of anything more horrific than being without a boat in this swamp, but the adventurer in me feels the need to conquer the might Okefenokee. So, hopefully I’ll have an interesting update for you tomorrow.
